Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.

ASU Gammage Art Exhibit

Hello everyone. It is too late to say Happy New Year. Instead, I'll wish you Happy St. Patty's Day, Happy Holi and Happy Spring Break. Yes, I know I am late, very late. The quote above, "Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time," is very true in my case. I was lost in the world of work, playing catch up after a trip back home, attending to a multitude of responsibilities. Yesterday, thanks to my friend I painted again after a long time. Art found me. :) I am thankful to her and to all of you for supporting me through out.

Feedback Wanted

We all know art is subjective. Some people like small, intricate paintings, while others like fluid and flowing
big pieces of art. Some like bright, vibrant colors, others seem to enjoy subtle themes. I would love to hear what you like to see and what you consider as art. Here are some questions that might provide a starting point:
  • What is the significance of art in your life?
  • What kind of art would you buy for your home?
  • Do you like frames on paintings?
  • Do you look for a specific color, or a theme, or a pattern, or a size?
  • Do you like vibrant colors in general or prefer to keep your decor neutral?
  • Do you like detail or just abstract?
  • Do you like a certain piece of art work because it has a meaning? Is meaning very important to you?
  • Would you buy an original or a print which is a part of a series of prints?
  • Do you actively buy art work?
  • If you have not bought art in the past but wanted to, was cost the only reason?
  • What is a "good price" for a painting you want to buy?
  • Are there other reasons for not buying art?
  • What are some other things you like/ dislike about art?
I would appreciate any form of feedback, critical, positive, it will all help. Thank you!
