Shayari is the art of writing poetry in Urdu with several couplets. A collection of such couplets is called a ghazal. I will let Wikipedia do the explanation of all the technicalities. All I would like to say is that I like to write poems in Urdu and am just an amateur at this. I think Urdu is a very rich language with a beautiful heritage. It is the language of love, of separation, of anxiety, of emotions that are indesribable in any other language. Here are some of my ghazals, your comments, thoughts, inputs are welcome as always.
